And Then He Finally Did It

I had completely lost hopes. Didnt even think once in last few years. Specially since he went into "senior" batsman, "sheath-anchor" role.

Once a while, when he gave glimpse of his younger self, it fuelled that thought a little. Like tahat 175 against Aus when Ozs visited India.

The other day, some ten years back Anwar did it (and that too against India in India), I was wondering, what does it take? If Anwar can do it why cant Tendulkar? He is a better batsman than Anwar. But I guess, his fans were in for a looong wait.

A number of times he did seemed closing in to this milestone. And He'd get out a few runs short, or sometimes he ran out of balls to play or sometimes the target wasnt suffiecient enough. Apparently, there used to be some or the other hurdle.

But finally he did it today. It seemed like Gods had planned it out. Like a small part of the long farewell (well, one day he got to stack away his bat for ever).

It seems like he is finishing all unfinished tasks. Like today he completed two, highest scorer in ODI and first one to score double century in an ODI match.

His cap is so full of feather that almost every other match he plays, he seems to add a new one. Like they say for the wine, the older it get, the tastier every drop is. Tendulkar, every match he plays, more sweet memories he leaves behind.

Hail Sachin Tendulkar!!
